International Support

A network across borders

Since its beginnings in 2004, Gezubuso Projects has been supported by dedicated friends and partners in Europe and beyond. What started with small groups of committed individuals in Germany and the Netherlands has grown into a wide circle of supporters who care deeply about giving children in South Africa a future.

A new step: Gezubuso Projects e. V. in Germany

In 2024, the non-profit association Gezubuso Projects e. V. was founded in Munich, Germany. The association is currently in the process of being officially registered. Its purpose is to create a reliable legal and charitable framework for fundraising in Germany and internationally.

Once fully established, the new association will take over responsibility for:

  • managing donations and issuing tax-deductible receipts in Germany,

  • developing fundraising campaigns and partnerships,

  • maintaining close contact with supporters across Europe,

  • and ensuring transparent reporting on the use of funds in South Africa.

The association is led by long-standing friends and supporters of Gezubuso who bring professional expertise and personal commitment:

  • Rudolf Köhne-Volland – 1st Chairperson
  • Prof. Dr. Peter Pospiech – 2nd Chairperson

  • Johanna Heppe – Treasurer

  • Lea Köhne-Volland – Secretary

Together with further members, they form the foundation to secure and expand Gezubuso’s work in South Africa.

A history of trust

  • 2004–2012: First support networks in Germany and the Netherlands. Donations were channelled directly or via partner organisations.

  • 2013–2020: Continuity through private networks and Ottobeuren Abbey, even during difficult years in South Africa.

  • Since 2021: Stronger communication with local leadership, new fundraising ideas, and more professional structures.

  • Since 2024: The foundation of Gezubuso Projects e. V. in Munich marks a new milestone – strengthening transparency, independence, and long-term growth.

Our principle

Trust is the foundation.
Donors support Gezubuso because they know that their contribution directly benefits children in South Africa – without detours and with full accountability.
